Cone Height Formula

Cone Height Formula

A cone is a three-dimensional object made up of line segments or lines that connect all the points of a circular base at a single point called the apex or vertex (which does not contain the apex). In contrast to a pyramid with a triangular cross-section, the cone can also be defined as a pyramid with a circular cross-section.

What do you mean by Cone Height Formula?

The cone height formula is used to calculate the distance between the cone's vertex and base. The volume of the cube and radius, or the slant height and radius of the cone, can be used to compute the height of cone.

Cone Height Calculator

The Cone Height Formula can be written as,

Formula:h = 3V/πr2

where,

V = Volume of thecone

r = Radius of thecone

This formula is derived from the volume of a cone formula.

Formula:h =√(l2- r2)

where,

l = Slant height of the cone

r = Radius of the cone

Example: A birthday hat is conical in shape, with a volume of 20 units3 and a 5 unit base radius. What is the cap's measurement?

Sol:To find the height of a cone.

It is given that volume =20 units3

Radius = 5 units

Using cone height formula,

h =3V/πr2

= (3 × 20)/π× 52

= (60)/ (π× 25)

= 0.76 units
