Supplementary Angles Formula

About Supplementary Angles Formula

Let us first review what supplementary angles are before learning what is supplementary angles formula. If the sum of two angles is 180°, they are said to be supplementary, and one angle is said to be the supplement of the other. Check out the List of Maths Formulas

While solving many issues involving various shapes, we come across the concept of extra angles. The formula for supplementary angles is used to:

  • find whether two angles are supplementary.
  • determine supplement of an angle.

Two angles x° & y° are said to be supplementary if

x° + y° = 180°

Supplement of an angle x° is obtained by subtracting it from 180°.

Supplement of x° = (180 - x)°

  1. Two angles x° & y° are said to be supplementary if
    x° + y° = 180°
  2. Hence, the supplement of an angle x° is
    (180 - x)°
