Criteria Before Applying for JEE Advanced 2025

1. Performance in JEE Main

The percentage reservations for different categories are as follows:

2. Age Limit

3. Number of Attempts

4. Appearance in 12th (or equivalent) Examination

Criterion Details
Eligible Exam Years Candidates who appeared for the class 10+2 exam in 2023 or 2024 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Ineligible Exam Years Candidates who appeared for the class 10+2 exam in 2022 or earlier.
Special Case for 2022 Exam Candidates who appeared in 2022 and their result was declared after September 21, 2022, are eligible if they meet other criteria.
Exception Candidates whose 2021-2022 results were declared before September 21, 2021, but their results were withheld, are not eligible.

Earlier Admissions at IITs

Candidates who were admitted to an IIT through JoSAA 2024 are not eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025, regardless of whether they continued their studies or not. This rule also applies to those who accepted an IIT seat or had their admission canceled. However, candidates who were admitted to a preparatory course in 2024 are eligible to take JEE Advanced 2025.

Candidates who paid the seat acceptance fee in JoSAA 2024 remain eligible if they:

  • Did not report to any center
  • Withdrew before the final round of seat allotment
  • Had their seat canceled before the final round

JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility for Foreign Students

  • Open to all Indian citizens and international candidates (who make up less than 10% of the SNQ). 
  • Applicants must have completed their Class 12 exams in the 2024-2025 academic year.

JEE Advanced Relaxation Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates who registered for JEE Advanced 2023 but missed both papers can appear for JEE Advanced 2025 without fulfilling criteria 1 to 4. They need to register online and pay the fee.
