About Sum of Perfect Squares Formula

Let us first review what perfect squares are before learning about the sum of perfect squares formula. A perfect square is a number that is the square of another integer. Perfect squares include 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, and others, which can be expressed as 12, 22, 32, 42, 52, and so on. To find sum of two or more perfect squares without adding them manually, use the sum of perfect squares formula. Check out the List of Maths Formulas

For finding the sum of perfect squares, we have two sorts of formulas. The sum of two perfect squares is one formula, and the sum of the first "n" perfect squares is another.

One of the algebraic identities is used to create the formula for determining the sum of two perfect squares.,

(a + b)2 = a2 + 2ab + b2, which is:

a2 + b2 = (a + b)2 - 2ab

For the first "n" natural numbers, the sum of the squares formula is:

12 + 22 + 32 + ... + n2 = [ n (n + 1) (2n + 1) ] / 6
