T Distribution Formula

About Distribution Formula

When the sample size is small and the population standard deviation is unknown, the T distribution formula is used to estimate the mean of a normally distributed population. Student's T Distribution is another name for the T distribution formula. The t distribution curve is nearly identical to the normal distribution curve, with the exception that it is somewhat shorter and wider than the normal distribution curve. Check out the List of Maths Formulas

According to the t distribution formula, the larger the sample size, the more like the normal distribution it will be. The degree of freedom = m, which is nothing more than "n-1," where n is the sample size, is required for the t distribution formula. For a short sample size, the t distribution formula is as follows:

where,

  • μ is the expected mean value.
  • ¯¯¯x is the sample mean.
  • s is the standard deviation of the sample.
  • n is the sample size.
