India being the land of diverse profitable business opportunities has always been a place of interest for businessmen globally since times immemorial. India has had rich trade relations ever since ancient times. The urge to exploit the Indian natural resources and reap a profit out of them pushed several Western nations toward India. Out of the different countries, the British East India Company survived the competition due to their shrewd tactics.  This chapter talks about how the East India company came into Indian territory to do business and how the company began to trade in Bengal which later on got turned into a war. The battle of Plassey and the battle of Buxar is also discussed in the chapter. Later on in the chapter, we will shift towards south India and we will learn about the Tipu Sultan and the war with Mysore.
