A brief explanation of Chapter 3 Data Handling.

"Statistics is the branch of mathematics which deals with collection, organisation, presentation, analysis and interpretation of a collection of numerical figures. In this chapter, we will come across some more kinds of data and graphs. Data handling refers to the techniques and methods used for collecting, analyzing, storing, and presenting research data. As the term suggests, data is a set of numbers. Graphs can help you visualize the concepts of data handling. Here are three ways to visualize data. Graphs:

Documentation: Data is captured in a systematic and ordered manner, and data handling involves putting it in the proper place and format. Data handling can take many forms, from handwritten data files to electronic files. Data integrity means putting the data in the right place, and data accuracy means making sure that every element of the data is correct. Data validation refers to the process of checking and verifying data's meaning. This step ensures that the data is accurate and useful.

Investigation of data: A child can also collect data based on his or her interests, like the favourite animal of a classmate. Another option is to ask about other classmates' support for a team. This activity will help the child apply his or her knowledge about data handling. Developing an interest in data handling helps children understand why it is important for them to learn this subject well. However, data handling is only one component of maths. The other two components are problem-setting and representation.

Organizing and presenting data is an important part of statistics. Data handling can be divided into two broad categories: quantitative and qualitative. The process of organizing and presenting data includes the collection, storage, processing, and use of information. Some of the most common data representation methods are bar graphs, histograms, and pie charts. Every type of data can be classified into different types. So, how can you make the most out of the information you have collected?"
