Q1: Why does the poet feel that the nose is a funny thing?
Ans: The poet feels the nose is funny because it looks like a handle stuck onthe face with two little holes.
Q2: Why is your nose important for you?
Ans: The nose is important to us for breathing.
Q3: Does the child in the poem like her nose? Why do you think so?
Ans: Yes, the child likes her nose. She finds it funny as it sticks like a handle on her face.

Q4: Describe a few funny things you have seen. Do they make you laugh?
Ans: My cat purring and playing makes me laugh
Q5: What does ‘features’ mean? Look up the dictionary. What are the different kinds of features of people we come across in the world?

Ans: The word ‘features’ mean different characteristics of faces or parts ofthe body like curly hair, fair skin, flat nose, slim, fat, etc.

Ans:While eating mongoes, it makes a ‘slurp’ sound.

Ans:It tastes sweet and delicious.

Q8: Do you know a fish breathes from its gills? Write two sentences about other animals which can breathe underwater.
Ans: Turtle, Snakes, frogs are aquatic animals. They can breathe inwater.
Q9: Punctuate the following passage.
mother’s father neelam said I have got a fire engine I’ve got a fireengine what’s this what’s this called mother somewhat confused by thenoise I’ve got a fire engine mother come and see it.
Ans: “Mother, father”, Neelam said, “I have got a fire engine! I’ve got a fireengine!” “What’s this? What’s this?” called mother, somewhat confused by the noise. “I’ve got a fire engine, mother. Come and seeit.”
Q10: Using a red pencil, choose and circle the things whose smell you like.
