Candidates can review the detailed XAT 2025 exam pattern as follows:
- Exam Mode: XAT 2025 will be conducted online.
- Parts: The exam consists of two parts: Part 1 and Part 2.
- Type of Questions: The test will include both objective and subjective questions.
- Duration: The total duration is 3 hours (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM).
- Sections & Number of Questions (Part 1): Part 1 includes Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability, and Data Interpretation & General Knowledge, with 75 questions in total. Part 1 has a time limit of 165 minutes.
- Sections & Number of Questions (Part 2): Part 2 includes 25 General Knowledge questions and one essay writing task, with 25 minutes allotted for this section.
Each section in XAT 2025 will feature 20-28 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with five options. The General Knowledge section’s score will be used for the final selection but will not be included in the XAT 2025 result. XAT 2025 Marking Scheme
All questions carry equal marks. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted, and 0.05 marks will be deducted for each unattempted question beyond 12. Candidates should carefully choose which questions to leave unattempted to avoid additional penalties.
Important Instructions Regarding XAT Exam
The XAT exam is divided into two sections: Part-I and Part-II. Part-I includes three sections—A (24 questions), B (21 questions), and C (27 questions)—totaling 72 questions. Part-II consists of 25 General Knowledge questions and an essay. Candidates have 210 minutes in total, with 170 minutes allocated to Part-I and 35 minutes for Part-II.
The General Knowledge section is not used for shortlisting candidates for Group Discussion or interviews but is considered for final selection. An unattempted question will result in a deduction of 0.05 marks, applicable after 12 unattempted questions. Each question carries equal marks, with a penalty of one-fourth mark for incorrect answers. Candidates should use the margins for rough work, as no separate paper will be provided.
