The SSC Stenographer Exam 2024 will be conducted in two stages. The first stage, Tier 1, will be an online Computer Based Test (CBT), and the second stage, Tier 2, will be a shorthand skill test. Candidates who pass the Tier 1 CBT will move on to the Tier 2 skill test. The syllabus for both stages is different. Below, we have provided the detailed syllabus for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the SSC Stenographer Exam. It's important for candidates to be well-prepared and familiar with the syllabus for this exam.
Application Form Release: The SSC Stenographer application form is available online. The application fee is ₹100, but women, candidates from SC/ST, Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) don’t need to pay the fee.
Admit Card Issuance: The admit card for the SSC Stenographer exam is released online on the commission’s regional websites. Candidates can download their admit cards by entering their registration ID, roll number, name, and password.
Computer-Based Test: This is the first step for candidates applying for SSC Stenographer Grade C & D. The test is online for those who successfully register. It has three sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language & Comprehension, with a total of 200 marks.
Result Announcement: The SSC Stenographer result is announced online for different stages of the exam. The result is in PDF format and shows the roll numbers of candidates who passed. The SSC also releases the cut-off marks for various posts and categories.
Stenography Skill Test: This test is for candidates who pass the computer-based exam. They will get a 10-minute dictation in English or Hindi. For Stenographer Grade C, the typing speed should be 100 words per minute, and for Grade D, it should be 80 words per minute.
SSC Stenographer Exam Centres: SSC provides a list of exam centers when the notification is released. While filling out the application form, candidates can choose three exam centers in order of preference, but they must be within the same region.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) opened the correction window for the SSC Stenographer 2024 application form. The last date for making changes or corrections was August 28, 2024. This correction window was available for two days. If candidates needed to make any corrections or changes to their already submitted application, they could do so during this time. The application process for SSC Stenographer ended on July 26, 2024, and the last date to apply was August 17, 2024. Candidates had until August 18, 2024, to pay the application fees online.
The application fees were to be paid online only. The application process had two parts: Part-I (One-Time Registration) and Part-II (Filling the application form). The fee for General and OBC candidates was INR 100, while SC, ST, women, and ESM candidates were exempt from paying the fee
