In the Common Admission Test (CAT), a candidate's percentile indicates their rank compared to other test-takers. To calculate the CAT percentile, the first step involves determining the raw scores for each test-taker. This is done according to the CAT marking scheme, which awards three marks for each correct answer and deducts one mark for each incorrect answer. For non-MCQ type questions, there is no penalty for incorrect answers. Once the raw scores are calculated, the CAT percentile is derived through a normalization process.
