India Post GDS Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for India Post GDS Recruitment 2025 are as follows:

• Age limit: the minimum age of the post applicant should not be less than 18 years. The maximum age of the candidate should not exceed 40 years as of January 27, 2025.
• Educational Qualification: The minimum qualification required for the post of Gramin Dak Sevak is 10th standard from an approved State/Central Govt. GDS qualification is important. Candidates who have cleared the 10th class exam in the first attempt will be considered eligible. No weightage will be given to candidates with GDS qualifications higher than mandatory qualifications.
• Computer Knowledge: A candidate who wishes to be a part of the India Post should be computer literate and should have a basic computer training certificate of at least 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute.
• Knowledge of Cycling: Candidates should know about cycling for all GDS posts.
• Local Knowledge Language: Candidates should have studied the local language of the state i.e. up to the 10th standard.

The selection of candidates will be entirely based on a merit list prepared based on marks obtained in the 10th class.

In case of the same marks of candidates, selection will be based on DOB (Higher Age as Merit), ST Female, SC Female, OBC Female, UR Female, ST Male, SC Male, OBC Male, UR Male.
