The IBPS PO Prelims is the first step in the selection process. Candidates who pass this exam move on to the main exam. Simplification and Approximation: This involves using BODMAS rules (Bracket, Order, Division, Multiplication, Addition, and Subtraction) to perform calculations. It also includes working with squares, cubes, roots, indices, fractions, and percentages.

Number Series: This section focuses on finding missing numbers or patterns in a sequence. You might see different types of number series, like missing or incorrect numbers.

Inequality: Inequality questions involve solving linear and quadratic equations and comparing values using methods like Quantity Comparison.

Arithmetic: This part covers basic arithmetic concepts such as Ratios, Percentages, the Number System, HCF (Highest Common Factor), LCM (Lowest Common Multiple), Averages, Age problems, Partnerships, Mixture and Alligation, Simple and Compound Interest, Time and Work, Wages, Pipe and Cistern, Profit and Loss, Discounts, Speed-Time-Distance, Boat and Stream, Train problems, Mensuration (2D and 3D shapes), Probability, and Permutation and Combination.

Data Interpretation (DI): In DI, you’ll work with data displayed in tables, pie charts, line charts, and bar charts. The goal is to analyze and interpret the data to answer related questions. You might encounter a single or combination of these charts.

Data Sufficiency (DS): This section tests whether the given information is enough to solve a problem. You’ll be given two statements, and you need to figure out if one, both, or neither provide enough information.

Seating Arrangements: This involves placing people in different shapes like circles, squares, triangles, or in straight lines, sometimes without knowing the exact number of people.

Puzzles: Candidates solve puzzles based on things like categories, comparisons, job titles, boxes, days, months, years, floors, and flats.

Miscellaneous: This includes various types of reasoning questions, like finding the odd one out, matching word pairs, number pairs, and number operations.

Syllogism: This checks how well candidates understand statements and conclusions, especially in cases with relationships like “only a few.”

Input-Output: Candidates arrange and shift data following certain rules and patterns.

Data Sufficiency: This tests if candidates can decide whether the given information is enough to answer a question using two statements.

Blood Relations: Candidates are assessed on their knowledge of basic family relationships.

Coding-Decoding: This involves solving problems where letters or numbers are replaced with specific codes, similar to Chinese coding.

Order and Ranking: Candidates need to organize items based on their positions in a specific order or rank.

If candidates get more than the cutoff marks in the IBPS PO prelims exam, they will move on to the Mains exam. The IBPS PO Mains exam includes five parts:
