IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2025

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2025 Age limit

One of the key eligibility requirements for IBPS PO is the age limit. Candidates must be between 20 and 30 years old to be eligible for the exam. However, there are relaxations in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

IBPS PO Age Relaxation

The authorities provide certain relaxations in the upper age limit for reserved category candidates. The details are as follows:

1. Candidates from SC/ST and OBC categories can apply for two cumulative exemptions.
2. SC/ST candidates with a physical disability are eligible for a maximum of 15 years of age relaxation, with no other exemptions allowed.
3. Candidates must present a certificate confirming their exemption category during the interview to be eligible for the PO post.
4. Age limit relaxations are specified in the official IBPS notification and may be subject to change.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2024 Educational Qualification

According to the IBPS PO eligibility requirements, candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

1. Final-Year Students: Candidates in the final year or final semester of their degree cannot apply for this exam.
2. Percentage Calculation: Fractions of percentages will be ignored. For example, 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%, and 59.99% will be considered less than 60%.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2025 Nationality

To be eligible for the IBPS PO exam, a candidate must meet one of the following nationality requirements:

1. Citizen of India
2. Subject of Nepal
3. Subject of Bhutan
4. Tibetan Refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
5. Person of Indian Origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam) with the intention of permanently settling in India.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2024: Reservations

Under Section 34 of ‘The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016,’ individuals with benchmark disabilities are eligible for reservations in the IBPS PO 2024 examination. The following categories of disabilities are recognized:

1. Orthopedically Challenged (OC)
2. Visually Impaired (VI): Candidates with visual impairment, after the best correction, are eligible to apply.
3. Hearing Impaired (HI)
4. Intellectual Disabilities
5. Multiple Disabilities: This includes multiple disabilities as defined under the Act.

IBPS PO 2024 Participating Banks

Eleven banks are participating in the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) PO 2024 examination. Upon qualifying, candidates have the opportunity to become a Probationary Officer (PO) in the following banks:

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2024 for EWS Candidates

Candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category must meet the following criteria:

1. Definition of EWS: EWS candidates are those who do not fall under the SC, ST, or OBC categories and whose gross annual income is less than Rs. 8 lakh.
2. Reservation: EWS candidates are eligible for a 10% reservation in the roles announced by IBPS.
3. Exclusion Criteria: Even if the family income is less than Rs. 8 lakh, candidates or their families who own the following assets are not eligible for the EWS category:
   1. Agricultural land measuring 5 acres or more.
   2. Residential apartments with a minimum size of 1000 square feet.
   3. Residential property of 100 square yards or more in notified towns.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2024 for PWD Candidates

In line with the Government of India norms, candidates with benchmark disabilities are eligible for reservations under Section 34 of ‘The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.’ The categories of disabilities that qualify for reservation are:

1. Deaf and Hard of Hearing
2. Blindness and Low Vision
3. Intellectual Disability: This includes autism, mental illness, and specific learning disabilities.
4. Locomotor Disability: Includes conditions such as leprosy-cured, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, and victims of acid attacks.

Persons with benchmark disabilities will be allocated reserved vacancies as prescribed in ‘The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016’ and as per the vacancies reported to IBPS by the participating banks.
