Brief introduction of Chapter 7 System of Particles and Rotational Motion
In this chapter, the planer kinematics of a rigid body will be discussed. This study is important for the design of gears, cams etc. Mechanisms are used for many mechanical operations. Once the kinematics is thoroughly understood then we apply the equations of motion which relate the forces and torques with linear acceleration and angular acceleration. Other main concepts of this chapter which are of top priority are
1. Parallel and perpendicular axis theorem
2. Angular momentum & Its conservation
3. Combined rotation and translational Motion
4. Pure rolling
The concept of angular momentum conservation will also be useful in the Gravitation chapter. From an entrance exam point of view, this chapter is a favourite for paper designers. So it should be done with extra seriousness and worthiness.
