About Chapter 12 Ratio and Proportion.

There are two methods to compare: (i) by looking at the differences; and (ii) through division.  The (ii) method is superior to the (i) method. The ratio is a division-based comparison. This allows us to observe how many times one quantity is equal to the other. Ratios are mathematical numbers that are used to compare two items that are similar in terms of units. We say two ratios are in proportion if they are equal, and we use the symbol to equate the two ratios.
