Who was the First Woman Prime Minister of India?

Indira Gandhi became India’s first female Prime Minister after her father passed away. Lal Bahadur Shastri appointed her as the Minister for Information and Broadcasting when he was in charge. When Shastri passed away in January 1966, Indira Gandhi took over as India’s Prime Minister.
