Who is the First Chief Minister of India?


Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant became India’s initial chief minister. He served as the CM of United Provinces, which is now known as Uttar Pradesh, first in 1937 and then again in 1950. He was able to become CM of UP for the first time because the British government held elections for the provincial legislatures in 1937.
