Who appoints the Prime Minister?

The Prime Minister of India is appointed by the President of India. Article 75 states that the Prime Minister is appointed by the President and other ministers are appointed by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister.
Members of Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha may be appointed Prime Minister. If he does not belong to either parliamentary house, he must be elected to either house within six months of his appointmen
