Which are the edible parts of a plant?


Different parts of a plant’s body are used as different food items. The plant parts which can be

eaten are called edible parts

There are some plants that have more than one edible part, for example, banana.

The ripened fruit is consumed as food. But raw banana, the plant’s flower and stem are used as vegetables in many parts of the globe. The banana leaf is used in some parts of the world for cooking. It adds flavour and aroma to the food.
