Where do the tropical evergreen forests grow and why?


Tropical evergreen forest are restricted to heavy rainfall areas of the Western Ghats and the island groups of Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar, upper parts of Assam and Tamil Nadu coast.
They can be best grown under 200cm of rainfall with short dry season. and trees reaches a great height upto 60 meters and above.
Since the region is warm and wet throughout the year. It has all kinds of vegetation like trees, shrubs and creepers.
Some commercially important trees of this forest are ebony, mahogany, rosewood, rubber and cinchona.
