What is the difference between an exocrine gland and an endocrine gland?

The glands are important organs of our body that secretes hormones and enzymes and are located throughout the body
The endocrine glands (as the name says endo which means within or internal) are ductless, that means there is no duct (passageway) to secrete hormones or enzymes and hence, the secretions are directly released into the blood.
Example of some important endocrine glands is the parathyroid, adrenals, sex-glands,pituitary, thyroid, etc.
On the other hand, the exocrine glands have a duct associated with it and hence, the secretions are secreted to the outer surface of the body or some internal organ with the help of the duct.
Few important exocrine glands are liver, pancreas, salivary glands etc.
Final Answer :
Hence, the main difference between exocrine and endocrine glands is ducts as discussed above.
