What is NET Exam?


National Eligibility Test (NET) is a national-level exam conducted in India by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The exam is conducted twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges.

NET exam is conducted in various subjects such as Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce, Management, Sciences, and others. The exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. To be eligible for the NET exam, a candidate must have a Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories). Candidates who are in the final year of their Master’s degree can also apply for the exam.
