Camels have four major adaptations that help them to survive in the desert.
- Long legs, splayed hooves and soft feet – They are ideal for walking in hot sand for a long
- Water storage – A camel can drink water more than one-third of its body weight and store it for a long
- Fat storage – The hump on their back is the storage site for fat which they utilize when the food is
- Three eyelids – These help in blocking the entry of sand
