What are the Pollinating agents?

Agents that carry out the transfer of the pollen grains are known as pollinating agents. For example, insects, winds, animals, or water.

What are the Different types of pollination?

There are two types of pollination: self-pollination and cross-pollination.

(i) What is Self-pollination?

When pollination occurs in the same flower or different flowers of the same plant, it is called

Self-pollination. There are two subtypes of self-pollination: autogamy and geitonogamy.

● Autogamy

Self-pollination in which the pollen grains from the anther of one flower is transferred to the stigma of the same flower is known as autogamy.
