What is Amoeba?

Amoeba is a unicellular organism that has the ability to alter its shape.

  • The food vacuole contains enzymes which break the food down into digestible
  • These nutrients are directly absorbed by the body of the amoeba for growth and maintenance.
  • The undigested waste is thrown out of the body through temporary rupture anywhere in the cell
  • To prevent Cannibalism, amoeba secretes a chemical to keep other amoebas
