How to classify materials based on the ability to pass light?
Based on the ability to pass light, we can classify materials into three types:
- Opaque materials: These materials do not allow light to pass through them. As a result, nothing can be seen through opaque
- Translucent materials: These materials allow light to pass through it but not that well. Only some amount of light passes through such objects. Hence, a clear image of objects is not formed on the other side of translucent
- Transparent materials: These materials allow light to pass through it and hence we can see everything across them
