What are the factors that affect health?
There are quite a few factors that affect health as health cannot just be an individual effort. Let us look at a few factors.
- Surrounding: Humans interact with their surroundings and healthy surroundings will produce healthy individuals. A healthy and pleasing environment can actually affect a person’s immune system and physical health
- Society: Humans live in society. Our social environment, therefore, is an important factor in our individual health. People who fit into society are likely to be more content and as a result healthier; both physically and
- Cleanliness: ‘Public cleanliness’ is very important for the well being of the individual members. Individual health can only be achieved with proper maintenance of the surrounding area.
- Good economic conditions: Good economic conditions ensure good health of individuals. When people have good jobs, they earn money and can buy healthy food. This food nourishes them and thus they become healthy
- Economic and Social equality: When a person is isolated and discriminated against, it makes him feel depressed. A depressed individual suffers from poor mental health and is unfit for work. Thus economic and social equality is necessary for good health.
