Is PNB a Government Bank?


Punjab National Bank (PNB), indeed a government-established bank, was founded in 1894 as a state-owned financial institution. In 1969, the Indian government nationalized it. However, in 2007, it transitioned into a private entity. Initially, it operated under government ownership but eventually shifted to private ownership.
