Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire, had three official wives. Their names were:
Saibai (also known as Sai Bhosale): She was Shivaji’s first wife, and they were married in 1640. Saibai was the daughter of a prominent Maratha noble, Nimbalkar.
Soyarabai: She was the second wife of Shivaji Maharaj and belonged to the Mohite family. They got married in 1653.
Putalabai: She was Shivaji’s third wife, and they were married in 1657.
In addition to these three official wives, Shivaji had several concubines and relationships with other women, which was not uncommon among royals during that time. His first wife, Saibai, was particularly well-regarded, and their marriage was considered significant.
