How many States and Union Territories are there in India?

India is divided into 28 states and 8 Union territories. The President appoints Administrators to oversee Union Territories. Each state and Union territory in India has its own special characteristics, like population, history, culture, clothing, celebrations, language, and more, making them all unique in their own way.
