As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, there are approximately 50 countries in the world where a significant majority of the population practices Islam as their religion. These countries are often referred to as “Muslim-majority countries” or “Islamic countries.” It’s important to note that the specific number of such countries can change over time due to various factors, including changes in demographics and government policies.
Islam is a major world religion, and its followers, known as Muslims, are found in significant numbers in many countries across the globe, not only in Muslim-majority nations. Therefore, while there are around 50 Muslim-majority countries, Muslim communities and individuals can be found in numerous other countries as well.
