How are integrated steel plants different from mini steel plants? What problems does the industry face? What recent developments have led to a rise in the production capacity?

Integrated steel plants are larger steel plants which use basic raw materials for making steel by blast furnaces.
Mini steel plants are smaller steel plants which use steel scrap and sponge iron for making steel by electric and induction furnaces.
This industry faces some of the given problems:-
Poor infrastructure
Irregular supply of energy
Lower productivity of labour
High costs
Limited availability of coking coal
Foreign direct investment, liberalization and privatization have led to a rise in the production capacity of the steel industry.
