Give reasons why respiration is called slow combustion?

In the process of combination the fuel is reacted with oxygen to form carbon dioxide, water and energy.
Now in the process of respiration human beings take up oxygen from the environment and use this oxygen to produce energy along with carbon dioxide and water in the cells.
But this process is not instant.
That is why respiration is called slow combustion.
Final Answer:-
In both the processes carbon dioxide, water and energy are the end products but the scale and rate is different.
