Who introduced the system of naming? What is this system? Mention its universal rules to fellow
ReportQuestion
Carolus Linnaeus provided Binomial Nomenclature, the system of naming organisms in two components.
Generic name Specific epithet e.g. The scientific name of Mango is Mangifera Indica (Generic) (Specific) Other rules of this system are:
1. Names are written in italics if printed, if hand written, underlined separately.
2 Irrespective of their place of origin or finding they are given a Latin name
3 First name is generic & second is specific epithet
4 Genus starts with capital letters but specific with small letters.
5 Name of the author follows the specific epithet and is written in abbreviated form e.g. Mangifera Indica Linn. Linn. as Linnaeus described it for the first time
