Peacock is the national bird of India. It is one of the most beautiful creatures on the earth which is feathered. Peacock is famous because of its vibrant colors. It is a blue colored bird and its feathers are of blue , green and golden colour. It looks beautiful in their colourful feathers. Peacocks are found in India , Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Africa. Peacock looks beautiful when it dances in the rain. It can't fly much high because it has more weight than the other birds.
- Peacock is declared as the national bird of India in 1963. Hunting of peacocks is banned so it is protected under the wildlife protection act 1972.
- This bird is also mentioned in the mythological books. For example - lord krishna wore its feathers on his head. Peacock is considered the vehicle of lord Karthikeya.
