What is the difference between a Gram Sabha and a Gram Panchayat?

Gram Sabha is made up of all the adults in a village, whereas Gram Panchayat is elected for a five-year term by the members of the Gram Sabha. Gram Sabha covers the entire village, whereas Gram Panchayat is divided into wards that are represented by Ward Councilors. Gram Sabha has authority over Gram Panchayat.
