Mumbai is the capital of Maharashtra and the financial capital of India that serves as the centre of all trade and investment but also a cultural center. It is the third richest state in india. It was formerly called Bombay. It is one of the most colourful cities in India and hence it is known as the dream City by many people. Marathi is the main language of the state and kabaddi is the state sport. Gateway of India is a symbol of Mumbai.
- It is an overpopulated city where many people go unnoticed like a sand castle carried and washed away at a beach. It is the entertainment and commercial centre of the entire country.
- The city is known for its popular nightlife. It is the tourists centre. One of the most iconic hotels of India , the Taj hotel is in Mumbai. It is famous for chhatrapati shivaji terminus.
- It is a city which never sleeps. Life in Mumbai is very busy. More than thousands of people come here to fulfill their dreams.
- Mumbai is famous for street markets and high end malls. This city is also famous for street foods like Vada pav , Sev puri, falooda and coconut water.
- The biggest celebration of Ganesh chaturthi is seen in Mumbai . People of Mumbai celebrate this festival in a grand and pompous manners.
Places to visit - ajanta ellora and elephanta caves, the gateway of India, Juhu beach, chhatrapati shivaji terminus ,Haji Ali dargah, mahabaleshwar, lonavla etc. Mumbai serves as the economic hub of India. It is the most urbanized city. People move to Mumbai for a better living, healthcare, economic jobs and higher wages.
