What is plasmodesmata? Explain ?

Plasmodesma/Plasmodesmata are microscopic canals in cytoplasm which pass through the cell wall.

It allows the movement of molecules that can directly communicate with adjacent plant cells.

They act like tunnels running through the cell wall.

They occur in varying numbers. They are found in high numbers in the walls of columns of cells that lead towards sites of intense secretion
