Question
Gamete intra- Fallopian transfer (GIFT) is a technique to overcome the infertility issues faces by some couples and help them produce healthy offspring. Ovum donated from the donor female or the ovum of the same female is collected and mixed with the sperm of the donor male. When the ovum and sperm have combined, both are successfully transferred to the fallopian tube of the female.
Such females can provide conducive environment to the developing embryo, but cannot produce functional ovum or cannot provide environment for the purpose of fertilization.
Out of the two fallopian, one fallopian tube should be functional, then only the procedure of GIFT can be carried out successfully.
