What is acid and bases according to Arrhenius concept ?

Arrhenius theory was introduced by the Swedish scientist Svante Arrhenius.

According to Arrhenius theory

Acid is a substances which release H+ ions when dissolved in water.

Base is a substances which release OH- ions when dissolved in water.

According to Arrhenius concept, Acid are those substance which release hydrogen ions when dissolved in water. While Base are those substance which release hydroxide ions when dissolved in water.
