Excretion is an important system for throwing off waste products from our bodies. Organisms excrete through various ways and are categorized broadly into 3 types as defined below.

Ammonotelic- they excrete nitrogenous waste as soluble ammonia as their excretory waste product. Example- Octopus, bony fishes.

Ureotelic- they excrete excess nitrogen as urea, they need less water in comparison to ammonia. Example- humans

Uricotelic- they excrete nitrogenous waste substances in the form of uric acid. Example-lizards.
