Question
1) If two dice are thrown, there are 6 x 6 = 36 different issues possible.
2) The sample space of an arbitrary trial is the set of all possible issues.
3) The sample space is represented using S.
When two dice are thrown,
Get the result as ( 1, 1 ), ( 2, 5 ), ( 1, 6 ), ( 3, 1 ) etc.
Since, there are six different possible results for a dice, the set (S) of all the results can be listed as follows:

Total number of possibilities of set S are thus, n(s) = 6 x 6 = 36 i.e. six possibilities of second one dice for each of the six possibilities of the first dice.
