The Deccan Plateau is a huge plateau that spans most of India's southern peninsula. It's triangular, with three mountain ranges surrounding it. It encompasses eight Indian states (principally, Telangana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu).The forests on the plateau are  older than the himalayan mountains.
