Simplify each of the following expressions:

= 3 x 2 + 2 + √3 + 3√2 + √3 x √2

= 6 + 2 √3 + 3 √2 + √6

(ii)[Therefore, (a + b) (a – b) = a² – b²]

 = 3² - (√3)²

= 9 - 3 = 6

(iii)Therefore, (a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab]

= (√5)² + (√2)² ​+ 2 x √5 x √2

= 5 + 2 + 2 x √5 x 2

= 7+ 2√10

(iv)[Therefore, (a + b) (a – b) = a² – b²]

= (√5)² - (√2)² 

= 5 -2 = 3
