The Himalayan mountain ranges have been formed by the plate tectonic movement of Indian plate and Eurosian plate.

Before  million years the India was the large Island located at the cost of Autralia and seperated from Asia by Tethy ocean.

The Indo- Australian tectonic plate was collide with the Eurasian plate which results in forcing the land up, and the formation of present day Himalayas started.

The plate tectonic collision between the Indian plate and and the Eurasian plate gave a structure to the Himalayas.
