Sexual reproduction in algae:
(a) Isogamous - Two flagellate (motile) gamets similar as in Chlamydomonas or nonflagellate (non-motile) similar as in Spirogyra , fuse together to form a zygote.
(b) Anisogamous - Fusion of two dissimilar gametes in size e.g. some sps. of Chlamydomonas.
(c) Oogamous - One large and non motile (static) female gamete and a smaller, motile male gamete fuse. e.g. Volvox, Fucus.
