Indian princely states were busy in fighting with one another, and East India Company took this as an advantage.

East India Company followed the policy of ‘Divide and Rule’.

Initially, they came to promote trade, but later they started to help one king fight against another and finally they took control over their kingdoms.

As a result, at last the East India Company subdued the Indian Princes.
