How are the minerals absorbed by the plants?

The absorption occurs in two phases in which in first phase, the mineral ions are taken into outer space, i.e., apoplast by passive transport and this process does not require energy. In the second phase, the mineral ions are taken into inner space, i.e., symplast by active transport and this process requires energy and proteins.
