India being a vast country has a great variety of soil types of land and their characteristics: -

1. Laterite soils are found in the hilly or upland part of India

2. Red soils cover a vast area of the peninsular plate.

3. Alluvial soils are of the most wide spread category. Alluvial soils are two types-Bangar and khadar.

4. Black soils founds in certain part Maharashta.

5. Mountain soils are found in the mountains regions.

6. Desert soils are found in rid areas of Rajas than, Punjab, and Haryana.
